Day 1 - Thursday, July 15: Departure from Toronto to Scotland
Late afternoon departure for Edinburgh. Dinner and a light snack served.
Day 2 - Friday, July 16: Arrival in Scotland and Transfer to Dundee (D)
Arrive in Edinburgh in the morning and transfer to the Hampton by Hilton in Dundee where we will be based for the next 4 nights. We will enjoy a casual welcome dinner at one of the many fine pubs.
Day 3 - Saturday, July 17: Third Round of the Open Championship (B, D)
After breakfast we’re off to the Old Course at St Andrews to spend the day exploring the course and watching the world’s best golfers on “Moving Day” of the Open Championship. Drinks reception that evening followed by dinner in one of the many pubs in town.
Day 4 - Sunday, July 18: The Final Round of the 150th Open Championship (B)
Following breakfast we're back to the Old Course to watch the 4th and final round of the Open Championship with the eventual champion golfer taking home the Claret Jug. After the presentation of the trophy, we have a chance to enjoy the party atmosphere in Downtown St Andrews. Might even run into a few golfers as they are known to enjoy a pint or two.
Day 5 - Monday, July 19: Golf at Carnoustie (B)
After breakfast we're off for our first round of golf: Carnoustie, home of 8 Open Championships and the venue of the infamous Jean van de Velde melt down. Let’s hope we can survive!! Following golf return to the hotel and the evening at leisure.
Day 6 - Tuesday, July 20: The Whiskey Trail and Balmoral Castle (B, D)
Today we head out for a day of sightseeing and whisky sampling. Included in the journey are visits to Balmoral Castle, Glen Lochnager and Glen Livet Distilleries. This evening we check in to The Glen Mohr in Inverness, our base for two nights. Once settled, we’ll take a walk downtown to one of the many fine restaurants.
Day 7 - Wednesday, July 21: Golf at Royal Dornoch (B, L)
After breakfast we drive to Royal Dornoch – arguably one of the most picturesque golf courses in all of Scotland. After a morning round and lunch at the Club, we drive down the coast to experience the Distillery at Glen Morangie. From here we return to Inverness and evening on your own.
Day 8 - Thursday, July 22: Scenic Tour to Stirling (B, L)
Today we depart for the historic city of Stirling by way of the A82, one of the most beautiful roads in Scotland, winding its way down the west coast from Inverness to Glasgow. Its most impressive section is through the magical Glencoe: some quintessential Scottish countryside with high summits, bare landscapes, lochs and not a house in sight. After our group lunch we continue to the Trossachs National Park with its majestic mountains and tranquil lochs, most notably the famous Loch Lomond. Upon arrival in Stirling, we will check into The Stirling Highlands Hotel and then make our way to Stirling Castle for a guided tour of the famous fortress. After our tour of the Castle, the rest of the evening will be at leisure.
Day 9 - Friday, July 23: Return to Edinburgh with Golf at Gullane Golf Club (B, L)
After breakfast we head east towards Edinburgh and on to Gullane Golf Club to enjoy our final round of golf. After lunch at the Club we go into Edinburgh for our final two nights of accommodation at the Crown Plaza Royal Terrace in the heart of the city. Dinner on your own in one of the many fine restaurants and the opportunity to explore the night life in Edinburgh.
Day 10 - Saturday, July 24: Edinburgh (B, D)
This morning we have our historical tour of the city to explore some of the most well-known attractions like the Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, National Museum of Scotland, Grass Market and many more. After our tour of the Castle, time to explore the streets of Edinburgh before we enjoy our final dinner as a group. After dinner you can either head back to the hotel or continue to soak up the atmosphere and culture of the city.
Day 11 - Sunday, July 25: Flight to Toronto (B)
After breakfast, early morning departure for the airport and our flight home.
