Food Focus: Prince Edward County

Join food tour host Lori Chisholm for a much-needed, all-ladies getaway in Prince Edward County. This will be an amazing mid-week adventure that includes winery, brewery and farm visits as well as great dining and even a cooking class – all private for our small group. Some free time for shopping or cycling and hiking will balance out the program. Please note: all guests will be required to observe any safety protocols determined by our suppliers. Please travel with a mask and sanitizer for the duration of the tour.

$1,495 including HST based on double occupancy. Single supplement: $435 including HST. Given the circumstances, all payments will be fully refundable until the Labour Day weekend or if the trip can't go because of COVID issues.

Day 1 - Monday, September 28: Arrival at Waring House and welcome dinner

Make your way with your besties to The Waring House ( ) near Picton in Prince Edward County. Arrive in time to settle into your premium room, check out the property, and then meet for a welcome glass of sparkling before our first group dinner at the house restaurant, Amelia’s Garden.

Day 2 - Tuesday, September 29: Wineries and farms

Today after breakfast, we have a private vehicle and driver to take us to the wineries and farms of Closson Road. Four winery stops with tastings are included, as is a picnic lunch with wine in a vineyard. Time permitting, we’ll visit a buffalo farm to learn about cheese production and perhaps an alpaca farm and/or a lavender farm. We’ll have some time for R&R back at the house before heading into Picton as a group for dinner with wine.

Day 3 - Wednesday, September 30: Craft breweries and pubs

After breakfast, today’s focus will be more on beer and cider. Prince Edward County is home to some excellent craft breweries and pubs, featuring great hospitality and tempting cuisine. Again, we’ll have our private transportation as we explore the region’s star producers and enjoy a French Canadian-style lunch with the bonus of a stunning view. Back at the Waring House, we are in for a three-course wine appreciation dinner (theme to be determined) led by the house sommelier in Amelia’s Garden Dining Room.

Day 4 - Thursday, October 01: Free day followed by evening cooking class

Thursday after breakfast, you are free to enjoy the day as you like. Shop, visit some more wineries, cycle or hike. But be back in time for our evening cooking class at the Waring House Cookery School. We’ll be coached by the chef (menu to be determined) and then sit down to enjoy our handiwork with matching wines. This will be a great opportunity to revisit some of the fun experiences, share photos with the group, and celebrate our ability to travel once again.

Day 5 - Friday, October 02: Program ends after breakfast

After breakfast and check out this morning, you can make your way home at your leisure.
