A Trans-Atlantic Festival of Food and WIne Aboard the Queen Mary 2 with a Pre-Cruise Cotswolds Tour

Join us for a wonderful three-day your of the Cotswolds followed by seven nights aboard the legendary Queen Mary 2 for a crossing from Southampton to New York which will feature a tempting array of cooking demonstrations, wine pairings and events that will be on offer throughout this unique voyage. We'll be joined by a variety of food and wine experts who will host talks, tastings and Q&A's about all things gastronomical.

Day 1 - Wednesday, June 03: Flight from Toronto to London

Evening departure from Toronto, direct service to London, England on British Airways.  Full in-flight services provided.

Day 2 - Thursday, June 04: London - Oxford - Moreton-in-Marsh

Arrive at London Heathrow where we will be met by our coach and local tour manager.  We depart immediately for the city of Oxford where there will be an opportunity for a leg stretch around some of the University Colleges before pressing on to Moreton-in-Marsh, where our base is the Manor House Hotel for the next 3 nights.  At approximately 5:00 pm we’ve arranged an al fresco gin-themed welcome reception followed by dinner in the hotel.

Day 3 - Friday, June 05: Moreton-in-Marsh

With Stratford-upon-Avon only a short ride away, this morning we’ll experience what life was like in Tudor England at Mary Arden’s Farm before visiting the beautiful, 500-year old Anne Hathaway’s Cottage where Shakespeare courted his bride-to-be.  Then to the Birthplace for a visit before rounding off the day with a close encounter with the elixirs at the Shakespeare Distillery.  Return to Moreton-in-Marsh for the second night.  No group dinner this evening.

Day 4 - Saturday, June 06: The Cotswolds

A circular tour of the Cotswolds begins with a photo opportunity in the picturesque village of Broadway, prior to a special tour of the privately-owned Sudeley Castle.  On then through the Cotswolds to Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold before reaching Shipston on Stour for a tour of the Cotswolds Distillery and a sampling of craft-distilled spirits from the heart of the Cotswolds.  Return to our hotel following the visit.  Dinner on your own.

Day 5 - Sunday, June 07: Southampton and embarkation

Breakfast at the hotel before leaving Moreton-in-Marsh for the port of Southampton, discovering on the way the skill, artistry and secrets that lie behind the making of every drop of the world-famous Bombay Sapphire Gin. Boarding formalities followed by free time to familiarize yourself with this iconic ship and maybe enjoy a G & T at the Golden Lion Pub located on deck 2.  Sail away party in the early evening.

Day 6 - Monday, June 08: First day of the cruise

Six full days and nights to relax and enjoy the fabulous programs and guest speakers being offered by Cunard on this special cruise.  In addition to those mentioned above, Cunard’s own talented Cunard chefs, sommeliers and mixologists will be very much involved, sharing their expertise and offering a fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse of what it takes to curate Cunard’s exquisite menus.
For those who want to come away with even more, there’s the chance to join the Cunard Wine Academy while on board to gain the WSET* Level 1 Award. This is a recognized qualification for those new to the wonderful world of wine. (*Wine & Spirit Education Trust).  
Of course the usual quality programing and activities offered by Cunard will also be available for you including; a fully equipped gym and fitness classes, the spa, the largest library at sea, bridge lessons and tournaments, ballroom dance lessons and opportunities to perfect your skills, the largest planetarium at sea and a fabulous afternoon tea.  
As part of our group you will also enjoy exclusive wine tasting events including a specialty dining experience paired with Opimian wines and an exclusive tasting event with your cruise host and AR for South Central Ontario, Michael Lutzmann. Day 7 - Tuesday, June 09: Second day of the cruise

Day 8 - Wednesday, June 10: Third day of the cruise

Day 9 - Thursday, June 11: Fourth day of the cruise

Day 10 - Friday, June 12: Fifth day of the cruise

Day 11 - Saturday, June 13: Sixth day of the cruise

Day 12 - Sunday, June 14: Arrive in New York and flight home

Breakfast on the ship before disembarking in New York and transferring to the airport for your return flight home.
