A Taste of Newfoundland

Sunday September 12 – Thursday September 16, 2021

The vibrant culture of Newfoundland is unlike that of any other place in Canada. This four-night, five-day tour in and around the capital of St. John’s showcases the unique food, culture and fun this part of our country has to offer. "The Rock” is Canada’s youngest province, St. John’s the oldest city in North America, and home to the friendliest people you’ll meet!

St. John’s is recognized as Canada’s “go to” food destination by chefs, The Globe and Mail and is home to three of the Top 10 restaurants in Canada, awarded by EnRoute Magazine. We’ll have meals with a Newfoundland focus including our farewell dinner at a top restaurant in St. John’s paired with wines and you’ll experience the amazing food being created by these chefs.

This is an exclusive itinerary, limited to 15 people.  There is a blend of guided activities and free time to relax and explore on your own. The customized nature of this trip means that when you come on the “Taste of Newfoundland” you can be sure you will have a unique experience and great stories to share.

At the end of this tour participants are welcome to join the Maritime Medley tour that begins September 16 in Fredericton, NB..

We will visit Cape Spear National Historic Site, the most easterly point of land in North America. We will also stop for aNewfoundland Chocolate company tasting. Day 3 - Tuesday, September 14: Excursion around the Bay (B, L, D)

Today we take an “Excursion around the Bay” to visit the pretty outport communities that
sprinkle the shores of Conception Bay; a region teeming with amazing stories about ancient
pirates, WW2 submarine attacks, the dawn of transatlantic aviation, arctic exploration, North
America’s first European colony and an Irish migration like no other in the world. We’ll enjoy plenty of inspiring stops with brilliant photo opportunities, foodie delights and fun characters. This is a true Newfoundland experience that everyone who “Comes From Away” will embrace. We will end our day with a visit at The Newfoundland Distillery in Clarke’s Beach for a tasting. This evening we will enjoy another organized dinner.

Day 4 - Wednesday, September 15: St. John's (B, L. D)

This morning we learn how to make traditional seafood chowder with a local chef. The afternoon is left free to explore the many historic exhibits, walking trails, boutique shops and galleries that surround your hotel.
