Since 1990, the luxury trains of Rocky Mountaineer have been taking guests right across Canada’s Rocky Mountains through the majestic landscapes of BC and Alberta between Vancouver and Banff. The spectacular scenery is best enjoyed from the comfort of expansive glass-domed coaches, and the journey is enhanced by vibrant storytelling, regionally-inspired cuisine, and exceptional onboard service. Jacques and Danielle Pauwels will be sharing this incredible journey with you. 

Tour costs per person land only:

Double Occupancy in Gold Leaf service + hotel: $3,182.04 + $159.11 tax. Double Occupancy in Silver Leaf service + hotel: $2,427.04 + $121.36 tax. Single Occupancy in Gold Leaf service + hotel: $4164.52 + 208.23 tax. Single Occupancy in Silver Leaf service + hotel: $3409.52 + 170.48 tax A minimum of 16 people is required to include a Pauwels host for this tour. Should this not be the case, those signed up for the tour will have two options: either receive a full refund of deposits paid or opt to travel individually, that is, without a Pauwels host but with the full support of Rocky Mountaineer staff.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Sunday, September 12: Arrival in Vancouver

Arrival on your own at the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront. With a location just steps from the best of downtown Vancouver, along with stunning views and first-class cuisine, the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has it all and makes every guest feel special with personalized service, thoughtful extras, and unwavering attention to detail.  

Day 2 - Monday, September 13: Depart Vancouver for Kamloops

A Rocky Mountaineer host will meet you in the hotel. You will receive your boarding pass, information on your Kamloops accommodation, and luggage tags. Coach transfer to the Rocky Mountaineer station and check-in. The train departs at 7:30 AM. On today’s journey, you will experience dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley to forests and river canyons in the Coastal and Cascade Mountains, and the desert-like environment of the BC interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Breakfast and lunch are included on board. Today’s trip concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer rolls along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops between 6PM and 7:30PM. Transfer to your hotel, where your luggage will be waiting for you in your room.  

Day 3 - Tuesday, September 14: Kamloops to Banff

Early morning coach transfer to the station for the spectacular ride from Kamloops to Banff. The pickup time will be provided with your travel documents. The train departs at 6:45AM and heads east to the mighty Rocky Mountains and into the province of Alberta. Travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes, and through the amazing tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Rockies. Breakfast and lunch are included onboard. Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb across Rogers pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels, and the glaciers and snow-capped peaks for which the Canadian Rockies are famous! Arrival in Banff between 7PM and 8:30PM, and transfer to the Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge.  

Day 4 - Wednesday, September 15: Banff and Yoho National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, full-day tour of Banff and Yoho National Park. Yoho National Park offers magnificent natural wonders such as the serene, turquoise waters of Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. A stop at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will allow you to revel in the breathtaking surroundings of Lake Louise and enjoy a group lunch (included) as well as some free time. Return to the hotel in Banff at the end of the tour.

Day 5 - Thursday, September 16: Return flight from Calgary to Toronto

Breakfast in the hotel, followed by coach transfer to Calgary airport.
